When One Gets Home From School ....

... One Must Immediately Change Into The Proper Attire:
Pink Sunglasses, Pink Plastic Heels, Rainbow Bracelet Worn Around The Ankle, And Wand.

Staycation

We decided on a mini-staycation with our best friends, the Maggiores. It was a GREAT day! We started with Jakes now-famous waffles for breakfast, with mimosas:

Then, we took the kids to the Childrens Museum of Phoenix: http://www.childrensmuseumofphoenix.org/default.aspx. This place was awesome, wish we'd discovered it before. Especially for this age. We were there hours & still didn't see all the exhibits. Matteo & Abigail didn't even notice they hadn't been given any lunch (which if you know these two, is a big statement!)
Craft table:

Painting a pink house, big hit:

More art:

This was a huge room filled with pool noodles hung from the ceiling. A little wild; as the kids tore through it running they couldn't see one step ahead of themselves, so a lot of crashing, but fun. Abby preferred to have Jake carry her through it but we did get this shot:

Then, a room set up as a grocery store:

Somebody's favourite:
Toddler area, complete with playhouse, and Abby's favourite activity: baby dolls to put to bed & cover with blankets (she plays this for hours at home even):

They would have played for hours if we let them. But none of us had eaten, so we all left to go to Jenn's dad's restaurant: http://www.kingsolomonspizza.com/ where he fed us mountains of sundried tomato & feta pizza. What a day, it was a fabulous staycation!

Grandma's Visit

We took Grandma to Pinnacle Peak Patio while she was here. A tourists taste of the Old West, if you like, with ribs, burgers, steaks & outdoor country music:

Labour Day Camping

This past weekend we went camping with the Borelli's for the long Labour Day weekend. They took us to Happy Jack, 2 hours north, and hosted us in their trailer.

Tori catching her frog:

Yes, in just a 2hr drive, the landscape changes from sand & cactus & 990 degrees, to green TREES (I double-checked, they were actual real trees), and a rainy 75 degrees:

San Diego

Some pics of our spontaneous last-minute weekend in San Diego. It was about spending time just the 3 of us, and came about 2 nights before we left because, well, we just couldn't take the Phoenix heat for one more weekend!

SeaWorld - what a fantastic day out this place is:

Like every other toddler watching the show, Abigail had fallen in love with Shamu:

Greenery - they have it in San Diego:

And, of course, how much we miss the beach:
