We did this last year and had a great time: http://madonnamusing.blogspot.com/2013/06/beatles-cover-band-outdoor-concert.html. So, we surprised nanna and granddad with a picnic dinner in the park to see the same band, Marmalade Skies, again this year.

Drinking from a Bitter Cup by Angela Jackson-Brown
Finished another book - this one quickly because it was an easy read. Not anything close to my usual genre but still thoroughly enjoyable. This little girl (the main character Sylvia) will remain in my thoughts for weeks I'm sure.

Easter 2014
I only got this one picture from Easter Sunday - enjoying eggs of course:
And then the girls got to make these traditional English Easter nests with nanna. Actually I don't know if they're traditional English or traditional Parker. My sisters and I made these for years with my mum. I never imagined my daughters doing it with her now! She said there was more chocolate all over her kitchen than ended up in the treats :)

Skateboarding
Skateboarding is still the chosen hobby for Abigail
and because of that, it is quickly becoming Bryony's new challenge:
Rainbow Donuts
We occasionally (like twice a year) spend a Saturday morning at the local 1970s donut shop. Jake loves the place and the girls are in heaven because breakfast is sprinkle donuts and chocolate milk.
What We've Been Up To
And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini
Just finished this book and I am so happy to have been introduced to this outstanding writer. Unknowingly, I started with his third book. The world has long been singing his praises over 'The Kite Runner' and 'A Thousand Splendid Suns' but I must've been under a rock for all that. I'm not sure how I heard about 'And The Mountains Echoed' but I can't say enough about it - GREAT read! And now I will rush straight to read his other two.
