Stay at Home Mum Life

It wouldn't be awesome if it didn't include walking them to school in pajamas sometimes, would it?

Darcy Turns 2

Wow, this rolled around fast. Somehow, my shining rainbow is already 2. She is feisty, fun, CRAZY smart (knew her numbers by 18mths old, letters now) and definitely has a side of Bryony in her. I am thoroughly enjoying being home with her - the only one I got to do this with. Keeps me on my toes but keeps my heart bursting full. Her birthday party was ducky-themed - she LOVES ducks.

Happy Birthday Darcy Lauren - mummy loves you SO MUCH xxx

The Shoe Obsession Must be a Family Trait

Aunty Natalie bought my girls matching Charlie Brown Vans - could they be any cuter?!

Uncle Bill

We had an unexpected night away in Palm Springs, unfortunately due to the passing of Jake's beloved Uncle Bill. We left Abigail and Bryony behind (they had school and they spent the night with BFFs) and just took Darcy with us. (I do not recommend bringing a 22mth old to a military funeral, by the way). Jake took a couple of hours to drive me around and show me the area/house his grandparents owned where he spent many summers. It was a memory lane thing for him, which was disappointing because a lot of it was not how he remembered, and not in an improved way. Anyway, there was much rain, a nice dinner with Darcy as our date at the famous Lulu's, an early night, a quick breakfast stop at Koffi (our favourite coffee joint anywhere) and then home again.

RIP Uncle Bill - you were so obviously respected and loved.

Passing on my Shoe Obsession

When you're the third child of the same gender, and your mum has saved ALL the shoes along the way. NOTE: this is JUST the current baby size!

Christmas 2017

Because of before-mentioned phone problems, I am so sad that these are the only Christmas pictures I have :(

She left Grandma Carmens covered in beans, gravy, juice, M&Ms, and dirt & ash from the devastating Thomas fire that gave this year's Christmas a little extra meaning.

Dollar Tree Christmas Shop

Last year we started a new tradition that we're doing again this Christmas. I took the girls to the 99c store and they picked a gift for each of the family members they'll be with on Christmas Day.

I chose the 99c store not because I want them to give junk, ha, but because it's easy for Bryony to choose things knowing that everything is a dollar and she doesn't have to keep asking me how much and keeping tally in her head. And she's not going to be picking Michael Kors in there, ha.

The 99c store here is huge and they both get so excited to be let loose, with their list of 10 names and a basket. I just wait at the front to help them pay.

I'm posting about it because it's already become a favourite holiday tradition for me and I want to share the idea! I got so much joy watching my kids get excited over the giving of Christmas, not just the getting.

Madonna family members: I am not responsible for what you might receive Monday, and I will not cover related hospital bills. Last year Jake got super glue and I got a wine glass. But know that it came straight from my daughters hearts. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
