If you haven't seen The Duchess, rent it now! Just be prepared to cry your heart out. It was BRILLIANT. Of course, I love any movie that reminds me of England. But I especially love being reminded of where all the little intricacies of English society came from. It is fascinating to me to see so much of what I recognise in the English now, in a movie based in 1774. Of course, WAY watered down but that's the background, the history, of English people. And Jake agreed, they (including me) can still be so much like this movie now. Fascinating.
